Welcome back for Day 3 of the #AFDetoxChallenge!
You’re doing AMAZING and already half way to identifying the stressors that have contributed to your adrenal fatigue symptoms.
Let's just be real, though: detox-ing from things like dairy, gluten, sugar, alcohol and caffeine all at once is NO joke.
These substances actually contain addictive properties, which is why you might feel like you’ve been hit by a bus today (insert cheesy emoji smile here).
And on that note, today, we're going to REST. I mean seriously rest.
Let me ask you this: which of the following sound most like you?
Have you been crossfitting daily for the past few years? Training for 5ks, half-marathons and triatholons? Core-power sculpting, Orange-theorying and barre-ing all over town? And yet feel like you need to keep adding in MORE exercise because you've stopped seeing results?
Maybe you're not identifying with any of that because you have zero energy for exercise these days, even though you're pretty sure it would feel amazing to be able to work up a sweat again. Insert intense guilt for not exercising regularly and being the super-fit-and-energetic woman you thought you be at this age.
Either way...Holy stressful.
For adrenal fatigue sufferers, the answer is not to do more, but actually to de-stress and detoxify from the excessive demand placed on our bodies by high intensity exercise.
So let this is your excuse to choose a nap over the gym today. OR incorporate restorative movement like yoga, stretching, some light weights or even walking.
How do you know if your exercise routine is too much for your current adrenal fitness level? If it makes you feel tired afterwards. Maybe not immediately afterwards, when those endorphins are flowing, but a few hours later do you feel bouncy or bedridden?
